EnergySolutions Releases PipelineStudio 3.0

Houston, TX, January 16, 2007. Energy Solutions International, the Houston-based leading global supplier of oil and gas pipeline management software, today announced a new release of its industry-leading pipeline engineering and design product, PipelineStudio(R), which helps pipeline companies reduce operating costs through proven steady-state and transient hydraulic modeling.

Version 3.0 of PipelineStudio, currently available for general release, delivers dramatic enhancements in the modeling of liquid pipelines. Some of the new features to the liquid pipeline modeling include the ability to define multiple pipe wall layers for better heat transfer modeling; the specification of valve closure characteristics to enable modeling of different valve types; and the ability to modify factors that determine pipe wall expansion under the influence of pressure and heat. PipelineStudio 3.0 includes additions on the gas side, now allowing calculation and control of duty in heaters and coolers.

Other PipelineStudio 3.0 features include Undo and Redo in the GUI as well as pasting configuration and result data from the GUI into non-PipelineStudio documents. Numerous other improvements to the modeling capability in both the gas and liquid applications also have been added. PipelineStudio integrates with EnergySolutions’ PipelineManager(R), the real-time online pipeline monitoring system, for a consistent view of the pipeline network. The product is downloadable from the EnergySolutions website for quick and easy installation.
