TengBeng Koid

Chief Executive Officer

TengBeng Koid is an experienced executive in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining ESI, Koid served as president, international for SMT, Inc., the market leader in geoscience software. When the company was sold to IHS, Inc., he became a vice president at IHS, the leading provider of information in the global market and economy. Before joining SMT, Koid served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer at ION Geophysical Corporation. Prior to ION, Koid worked for Landmark Graphics Corporation, a software and services subsidiary of Halliburton Company, in various roles including vice president/general manager of Asia Pacific Operations, vice president for Global Business Development and vice president for Asset Performance Consulting. Koid later moved to Halliburton where he was vice president with accountabilities over national oil companies. Before Landmark, Koid was a senior manager at IBM specializing in the oil and gas industry. Koid has an executive MBA from Bath University and graduated with honors from the University Science Malaysia with a bachelor degree in computer science.

Joseph Dwyer

Chief Administrative Officer

Joseph is a member of ESI’s board of directors and is currently serving as the company’s Chief Administrative Officer. Mr. Dwyer served as Chief Administrator of Capstone Advisory Group, a company engaged in corporate restructuring services. Prior to Capstone he served as Chief Financial Officer of AXS-One, a publicly traded software company serving the electronic records archiving market. Prior to AXS-One, Mr. Dwyer served as Chief Financial Officer of Synergen, Inc, a company engaged in the development and marketing of enterprise asset management and mobile workforce software to utilities, municipalities and asset intensive industries. Mr. Dwyer served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Caminus Corporation, a publicly traded provider of integrated enterprise software applications to the global energy industry, and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ACTV, Inc., a publicly traded digital media company. Prior to ACTV, from Mr. Dwyer served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Winstar Communications, Inc., a publicly traded global telecommunications provider.

Rene Varon

Senior Vice President, Americas

Rene joined the company in 1997 and since then has been performing different roles within the company, sucha as sales manager for Latin America, then VP of Sale for Latin America, Europe and recently VP of Global Sales. At the end of 2011 Rene was promoted to his current position to manager all of the Americas, being responsible from business development to project deliverable and customer care. His main objective is to ensure that the organization will continue creating a solid foundation of the operation in the Americas as well as to grow the business and the customer satisfaction in the region.. Rene’s accomplishments in serving clients make him a natural choice to lead ESI’s operation in America. Rene earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Ponticifia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota and an executive master’s in business administration from Bauer College of Business, University of Houston.

 

Jean Januard

Senior Vice President, International

Prior to joining ESI, Jean served as Vice President of EMEA and South Asia for SMT, Inc., which he initially joined to manage the Europe and Africa region, based in the UK. Jean interned at TOTAL and then worked at the French embassy in Moscow in various roles. Jean then joined a French trading and consulting house, Groupe CIFAL, first based in Azerbaijan, then Dubai and latterly in Russia. He excelled in various roles including Country Manager, Regional Business Development Manager for the Caspian region, where he took an active part in setting up joint ventures between western EPC companies and local industrial players. Jean then became Head of the Oil and Gas Department, where he was involved in setting up an oil & gas asset evaluation partnership. Jean joined ION Geophysical Corporation as Vice President for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). His leadership at ION and later on at SMT helped drive the growth of the business multiple fold.

Jean spent some of his early school years in Canada, initially focused on Mathematics and Physics and later on graduated with a degree in Humanitarian Sciences from the Sorbonne University in Paris, he also has  a degree in Russian Contemporary Studies and a Masters in Russian and Soviet Studies.

Jean is based in ESI’s Middle East office located in Dubai, UAE.

Joe Peden

Vice President of Marketing and Business Development

Joe joined Energy Solutions in November 2010 from STARLIMS (an Abbott Labs Company) leading providers of Laboratory Information Management Systems, where he was responsible for European sales operations. Joe has a track record in the design, marketing, and selling of Information Management Systems and Collaboration Knowledge Management Solutions and is a named inventor for the Laboratory workflows included in the Thermo Electron Nautilus LIMS solution; covered by US Patent US 6,594,588 and have a patent pending on the Ardenno Collaboration and Knowledge Management Solution US60/923,891. These roles have all demanded high levels of versatility, in communicating an organization’s value proposition, through multiple channels such as, direct communications with clients, organizing of national and international trade events and holding direct briefings with key industry analysts. Joe has an in-depth commercial experience covering multiple market sectors and areas of business, from direct sales to Marcom, Strategic Marketing to Business Development and System Validation.

Julie Hatfield. PMP

Vice President, Global Services

Julie joined Energy Solutions in 2005 and served as Product Manager for Commercial Applications and, later, Director of Operations and Service Delivery in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia before taking her current position. Julie has over 15 years of experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining Energy Solutions, Julie worked in the Koch Industries family of companies, managing a variety of enterprise pipeline and energy trading projects and organizations. Julie began her career at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in the Energy Business Unit, managing, implementing, and supporting pipeline operational and business applications for a variety of clients. Julie is a Project Management Professional (PMP), holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems Management from St. Mary’s University, and an MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Juan Seriñá

Vice President of Product Management

Juan became Vice President of Marketing and Product Management in April 2010. An employee since 1995, Juan’s extensive experience as project manager and technical leader on customer projects uniquely qualifies him for his new role. ESI looks to Juan to put his technical expertise and customer relationships to work in updating and introducing new products, as well as reaching out to new customers. Juan served ESI most recently as Technical Projects Director, coordinating all simulation projects worldwide. He was the development manager for VisualPipeline, the graphical user interface for ESI’s market-leading PipelineManager® software, and lead engineer on the implementation of multiple global deployments. Prior to joining ESI, Juan worked for Controles Texas S.A., in Caracas, Venezuela. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and has published articles for the Pipeline Simulation Interest Group and Middle East Pipeline Conference.

Jonathan Mefferd

General Counsel

Jon joined EnergySolutions in 2004 after serving as Counsel for Aspen Technology, Inc., where he was responsible for drafting and negotiating software license, implementation, alliance, partner, reseller and joint venture agreements for the company’s Asia/Pacific and Latin America regions. Mefferd started his legal career as an attorney with the boutique defense firm of Womble & Spain in 1996. In addition, he has served as in-house counsel for a number of software companies prior to joining EnergySolutions, including TransEnergy, a Houston-based energy software developer, Severn Trent Systems, Inc., an electric utility software company and Aspen Technology, Inc. Mefferd received the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston. Jon is a licensed attorney under the State Bar of Texas.

Jacquie Ballesteros

Director Global Administration & Human Resources

Jacquie has more than 20 years of experience in human resources management with EnergySolutions and its predecessor companies. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Professional in Human Resources certification from the HRCI.
